Beauty might bring happiness, but happiness always brings beauty - Kevyn Aucoin
When I was a little girl I would be fascinated by the world of makeup and I couldn't wait until I was old enough to have makeup to call my own instead of always stealing my mothers. From her Christian Dior eyeliner, LancĂ´me eyeshadows, Elizabeth Arden lipsticks and Yves Saint Laurent perfume, to me she was the most glamorous person in the world. Never did I think that 15 years later I would be the one to share my beauty products and makeup tips and tricks with her. From the awkward 13 year old who thought pink sparkly Barry M dazzle dust was appropriate to wear to the supermarket on a Saturday, to the 16 year year old going through a punky phase where black eyeliner was more essential to living than water...to say I have come a long way since then would be a slight understatement. My makeup collection may be more Tom Ford, Chanel and Kevyn Aucoin nowadays but I've never lost sight of that little girl that would slather her face in glitter and gloss, dance around her bedroom and just have fun.
I have always loved how I can express myself through makeup, whether it was a reflection of what phase of my life I was going through, to getting all dolled up with girlfriends for a night out, or nervously getting ready for a first date. The way we can express ourselves through makeup is so special, and the way makeup can change the way we feel, well that just says it all for me. There's nothing quite like throwing on a red lip and feeling like you could take on the world. Makeup has always held such a special place in my heart and now holds a very beloved space on my dressing table. I'm always the first person to rave about new beauty collections to my friends and family, to recommend a product, to offer a helping hand, to offer advice and little tips, I love showing someone how makeup is to be enjoyed and embraced and isn't something to hide behind. At the push of friends and family (probably so I have someone else to obsess with over yet another 'perfect pink' lipstick), I've decided to venture in to the big wide world of blogging and I really hope you enjoy what I share here. I didn't want this to be a space dedicated to only beauty as that might feel a bit repetitive after a while so you'll probably find a few ramblings about other things such as life, love, cats and travel, pretty much anything!
Love, Chloe x
